The child who never grows up. Chimera is that horse that has to get into everything. Destroys rugs, nips, pushy, rude, removes fly veils (himself and others) yet a total saint under saddle with an extremely forgiving, kind attitude. He is a very honest horse to ride, brave, willing. Could be a kid's pony. He is the sort of horse that you hope you are going to ride first at a competition when you have arrived late with only 7 minutes warm up time (speaking from experience).

BREEDING
 

Chimera is a homebred Patchwork horse, the very first to wear the shoulder brand. He is by Sheer Etiquette's brother, Patchwork Merlin and out of an elastic Northern Dancer  x Benefit Performer mare. He and his full sister managed to miss out on the grey gene (1 in 4 chance - both parents were grey!)
He has a half brother, same sire, (Laurel View Tyson VDS) who is absolutely killing it in the dressage. Consistent scores of 70%+  in 4YO, 5YO, 6YO and at Elementary Level Dressage.

TRAINING

Chimera has an established piaffe and passage in hand and under saddle, solid flying changes, pirouettes and superstar extensions. Chimera has attended venues such as Boneo Park, Elcho Park, Werribee and Horsham. He has also attended clinics with Thomas Muehlenbeck and Mary Hanna. Chimera has many enviable scores under his belt, particularly well rewarded for his elastic cat walk and extended trots. Despite his obvious talent and trainable temperament, he is quiet and forgiving enough for a nervous or inexperienced rider and is the same every day or once in whenever.

In 2021 and 2022, he was accepted onto to the Victorian Dressage Development Squad - something only achievable through multiple high % scores within the qualification period!

COMPETITION RESULTS
 

Chimera  has proven himself time and time again at competitions as being cruisy and reliable.

In 2021 he sealed 4 consecutive wins at Medium Level with scores between 67-69%. He also won Medium Level Champion 3 times in a row! In 20 starts, he was never out of the placings; 14 of those were 3rd place or higher! He had his debut at Advanced Level in 2021, where he won on 67.3%!  He won VDC Champion, WPVDC Champion, and won the Gilbey's Trophy Commemorative Award for Medium Level. He started the year in Medium Level and ended in PSG!
 

In 2022, he's had several starts at Inter 1 Level with scores sitting around 65%. He is training Grand Prix and could try his first green GP test, if the one time changes were just a little more established!

 

He has a full sister, Patchwork Desired Fate, who was sold to VIC in 2014 as a 3yo.
